The reason I dont get to play Rakion very often is because my router is plugged in more than half the time I'm home (since my dad uses our other computer). When it's in, I cant play in games with more than 4 people or I will lag like crazy / not see people / people wont see me / will see many people with 999 ping.
I already activated DMZ but that didn't do anything. Is there anything else I can do to make Rakion functional with my router? =x |

i play off a router, i can run rakion on 2 comps off the router without lag.
ur problem is either:
1- ur internet provider sux
2- the router sux
3- ur dad using the internet creating lag. _________________

How could I go about doing that, Dr. Meep?
@GPA Nah it's not any of those. When my router is out my internet is great, I've tried 2 different routers and it has an effect even when my dad isn't using his computer but the router is in. |

Do you have cable? Cause i had a simalar problem back in the day when i first started playing rakion and i found my cable modem to be the source of the problem. For some reason the old cable modem i had could only upload so much information untill it reached a point where effected my download speed. <i guess i got what i paid for $0>
For example lets say im on bit torrent downloading my anime. Id set it up where my max upload speed was 50kbps and unlmited dl speed. So lets say im dlin something and ive got 50kbps uploading and 500kbps downloading. when i went into the options to change to change my upload speed to like 70kbps then my download speed dropped to 100kbps. I went over my cable modems limit because for some reason it wasnt made to upload that much data.
The same thing would happen in rakion. I could play 4v4 perfectly because i wasnt going over my modems upload lmit but once if i summoned a cell or the game got one person over 4v4 i would lag. 80ping to.... 3k ping o_o zomg
But if you have at least a 3mbps connection then that should be barely enough to support you playing rakion and your dad surfing the web. Unless of course your dad is secretly dlin' porn hogging up all the bandwith =O. But yea if you cable, check with your isp n' make sure your modem is still supported by them cause an outdated/cheap modem can be the real source of your problem. hope this helps ^^ |

Power cycling... hmm I didn't mention that.
Yea before you play Rakion try unplugging your router and leaving it for a minute or 2 and then plugging it back in.
But the stuff I posted will affect your connection more than that. _________________ Aude Sapere

Linksys routers are usually set to a default gateway IP of 192.168.1.1
However, this may not be the default for your router. To find out, open up your command prompt (dos, program files --> accessories) and type in "ipconfig".
Put the default gateway IP into your browser window. Default username/passwords for Linkysys routers are admin/admin, or blank/admin (blank being nothing, not... the word blank.. )
Should let you log into your linksys router, it's what I use. |
