build your own if you can or maybe check out acer laptops, they tend to be decent performance for a reasonable price

avoid alienware like the plague

As Dylan stated, build your own or check this one out :

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220696

Core i7 (Quad core), 7200 RPM HDD, Very good graphics card, LED Backlight on the screen rather than the traditional CCFL (LED - better blacks and vibrant colors, less light leakage, consumes less energy), Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, and much more...

Price is only 1049.99 plus tax..Not too shabby IMO

Edit: Also comes with USB3.0 to boot (almost as fast as SATAII transfer speeds) and the videocard supports DirectX 11.0. Good Future-proofing Smile .

I can build you a PC or laptop if you wish and ship it out to you. Been doing it for 15+ years. All you need to do is provide the funds, and I take care of the rest.

I think its the ability to customize your order, and they're pretty cheap compared to other vendors. Then again, a lot of other places have customization too but they don't compare to ibuypower's prices. Check out some of the laptops on Newegg. There are some pretty good deals there as well.
