You have to have a gold account to access Netflix. Guess what? PS3 has netflix support and doesn't charge a monthly fee to access it. PS3 has the same damn features as XBL, but doesn't cost monthly. If I had a PS3 (which I don't) I would play console games online. I only have my 360 because i got it + 4 controllers + 3 games from a friend for $200, and the thing is brand friggin new, freshly replaced from microsoft due to RROD.
XBL subscriptions are dumb. I refuse to buy out of principle, not out of lack of money. |
um first off no one mentioned netflix, second off netflix is free from micro$oft, you pay netflix to have unlimted streaming and x amount of dvd's in the mail, you can just use your xbox instead of your computer or a fuckin expensive ass dvd player
i never looked at netflix on ps3, but i doubt its free

Its the same thing has buying games.
Lets use MW2 has an example.
I pay $60 for the ps3 version and i want to play it online! Omg its free!
I pay $60 for the xbox360 version, and i want to play it online! omg i have to buy XBL Gold!
Why should i pay more when i can play the same game online for free on one service, while the other one charges me to play online...

I fcking mentioned netflix. And you HAVE to have an Xbox Live Gold account to access the netflix service via your xbox360 in addition to a netflix subscription.
I know how netflix works. I'm not retarded. I have a netflix account. I get DVDs and use the movie streaming feature through my blue-ray player. My point is, xbox live charges you to access services you shouldn't have to pay for. Everything online (obviously excluding online purchases for games and expansions and movies ect) for other consoles are free, but Microsoft has a lock-down on all online content on their system, and I think it's bullshit. |

you guys look at this like its fuckin expensive, lengend is sayin u gotta pay to play cod, homen is sayin you gotta pay to use netflix
look at it this way, when u first buy your xbox buy that shit scyther showed u, bam $40 and your online for 13 months
now what do you get for $40? besides being able to play online you get access to demos(like l4d2 and forza 3), a movie library, music video library, arcade library, old xbox games library, you can game with famous ppl, tons of events, tons of shit
now what do i do with the $60 i pay each year(5x.xx)
i play online and enter events, i got a couple arcade games(ikaruga[think thats how u spell it]shits beast)
honestly to me it seems like you guys are lookin at it like u gotta pay 40 everytime u wanna play online, i never even think omfg this new game came out damn i gotta pay to play online o wait i payed like what last year for that shit so im good. o damn my subscription gonna end soon shit, o wait go ahead take my money micro$oft uve been good to me( that tv i won is worth that $60  )
theres no point in arguing about this, its either your too fuckin broke to afford $40 a YEAR(or like homen said, principle or some shit  ) or like you guys said look at it like your buying a extra game a year

I agree with your last statement, I'm not saying any console is better then the other. All 3 current generation consoles are great in their own regards, one isn't better then the other. Just to get that out of the way in the first place.
Cost isn't the problem. I'm not worried about 40-60 (w/e the price) is per year. I could by a year subscription for myself and everyone on these damn forums that owns a 360 if I really wanted to.

You get all that with Xbox Live Silver. The only difference between Gold and Silver is netflix streaming and the ability to play games online.
I have no beef with the free Silver service. That's totally fine, I even use that for buying DLC's and arcade games. I use that plenty. I just think it's total bullshit that they charge for services that they shouldn't charge for (Like playing on game servers not even hosted by XBL).
There's no need for argument, you're right. It's just a matter of OPINION. I don't like the service, so I don't pay for it. It's not a matter of being too broke or anything. I just look at it this way: I can play for free on my PC and hook my PC up to my TC, or I can pay to play it on my xbox. It's that simple. Most good online games are being ported to the 3 major formats right now anyways (PC, 360, PS3). So that's what I choose. I play online games on the PC, and I play single player console games on the 360. Games like Devil May Cry 4, Dead Rising, Mass Effect, Dragon Age Origins, Lost Planet, Ace Combat 6, Lost Odyssey, Infinite Undiscovery ect. I play online games on the PC, where it's free. That's all there is to it. |

the last 2 and a couple more rpg are amazing.
I started to play dmc4 in dante must die mode but its too annoying cos i beat the game twice n the storyline is not that good,(thats such a bs that i got only 210/1000 achievement points)
Not sure if u played Ninja Gaiden 2 cos that game rapes too.Can't wait for 3/9/10 though.
You can do this too get the game for a week(used one)then return it and get another game.Keep doing this process in different gamestops so no1 will notice you.Of course you can do this for games that you dont want to keep but for games like halo or mw2 its not worth it since they dont get old due to online gameplays |
