For those of you who actually buy OS's I'm trying to find the cheapest deal to get Windows 7.
MS gives you Windows 7 free* if you purchase Vista or Upgrade your current Vista. Now through MS website you only save 4 cents. A real upgrade would only cost me $159.99 going from Home Premium to Ultimate, but I don't think that upgrade counts. So to qualify for Windows 7 I would have to buy the Windows Vista 64 Bit Upgrade at $219.95.
I haven't been searching much but so far TigerDirect has the cheapest.
You can buy Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 64 Bit - OEM for $199.99 and get the Windows 7 Ultimate free*.
Anyone got something cheaper?
* Microsoft Windows 7 product upgrade for the cost of shipping and handling ($9.99)

i don't know because i never upgraded to vista, but i do plan on buying Windows 7 full retail for my laptop and getting a macbook pro
Do we get a discount if we upgrade from Windows XP MCE to W7?

A friend of mine showed me how you can get windows 7 professional for $30 if you have a valid .edu e-mail address, I will get the information from him again today.

There is no discount for whatever OS you currently have.
I was hopping for links of sites that are selling Windows at lower prices, we all know the other ways of getting the OS at cheaper prices and even free, this thread is to find the OS the cheapest there is.

Why, the two computers I have are good, and it b cheaper for me to just buy Vista from TigerDirect.
