anyone remember the sega channel =O
sega was waaay too far ahead of its times when it came out with this service. The sega channel is kinda similar to the virtual consoles games are now but instead you pay a monthly fee of 15 bucks and sega gave you access to 50 different games in their library every month via the internet. My neighbor friend had the service so i dunno how often they swapped out the games on the sega channel; but offering all those games at a decent price and ON DEMAND is pretty impressive when you look back at it. |

I was quite fond of Sega Channel. Discovered and fell in love with Bomberman and Paperboy--or whatever it was called--due to it. I feel like the games were changed every 1-3 months, but I may be mistaken. _________________

It was an incredibly simple game and the idea itself shouldn't even be entertaining, but that game was addicting. I don't know why. I barely even remember the details. I just recall my sister and I playing it obsessively. I miss my Sega Genesis and the games it had. I will never forget the love I held for the game Soldiers of Fortune. Interesting music to that one as well. o.O
Might be interesting if they used a similar system of payment for OnLive. A monthly fee, but with a limited selection of games attached to that fee, which can be played without additional charges. They could also have each game set for purchase, which allows the user to play the game whenever they wish without waiting for it to be available on the game list. _________________

It's great Nintendo's innovation is starting to rub off the other Big 2... very exciting stuff. I wonder how much it will cost.
Thanks for sharing, tronnmeister! _________________ ***List of currently active Rakion trades***

| Are they able to let you play any game or is there a specific list that they have that they can broadcast? |

Sorry I didn't see your post! No you can't play any game you want, it will be a specific list of games from publishers and developers that they have partnered with. And they sure have some good game companies on board.
But the point of 'bumping' this thread again is there is a major new update about OnLive... it has been confirmed to work on cell-phones.
So games like Crysis can be playable on the iPhone. O_O

| While it may work for RPG games (like how maplestory is hosted on another server), it will definetely not work for FPS games (too lag. thats why rakion gets a player to host the game) |

SHADDAP. This thread isn't that old considering the relatively inactive state of the forums (it was nearly still on the first page of this OT forum). Plus I'd rather not make another thread for OnLive.
