We have no plans at this point to institute a 1v1 ladder. Right now all data entry is manual and I don't have the manpower or wish to have the manpower to deal with all the whining/noshows/drama that would come along with a couple month 1v1 season.
a 1v1 or 2v2 league is definitely something to look forward to in the future but I doubt we would ever run a season for them. It is more realistic to have a one weekend tournament inbetween seasons or inbetween regular season/playoffs. That is something which is totally do-able and would be very enjoyable for everybody involved.

I've considered keeping kill totals for each player so that at the end of the season we could have an all-star game. But we run into too many problems if people disconnect, or don't play every week, etc. etc.
I think a much better solution would be to have the forum vote on 12 allstars at the end of the season. Maybe 2 archers, 2 blacksmiths, 2 swordsmen, 2 ninjas, 2 mages, and then two wildcards for high vote getters that didn't when their class.
