IRC Channels

Just thought that it'll be easier for clans to contact each other.
IRC is a great way for teams to communicate and schedule for matches.

I've created a channel on GameSurge channel #Rakion
Here's what you need to do to get in the channel:

1. Download mIRC or any other IRC software. I personally recommend HixScript which can be obtained here.

2. Once you've download and installed the client, go to internet explorer or mozilla firefox URL bar and type, irc://irc.gamesurge.net and press enter.

3. Once you are connected to GameSurge, type /Join #Rakion it will take you to the Rakion channel.

4. You may chat with anyone in that channel at this time.

For those clans that doesn't have a clan channel I will be more than happy to register a channel for you guys. Just message me if you need help.

When I played Unreal Tournament we would ALWAYS use IRC just because UT didn't have a whos online option. (I played 1999 version ;p) and we would all just idle in their trying to get a pug together.

There was some scripting where you could choose teams/captains and you would type /(characters name) or it would assign them a number and you would choose by /1 or /2 etc and I think if there is someone who is familiar with teh IRC channel and can implement that would be awesome.

Also because IRC does not go full screen, you can do stuff on hte computer while waiting for your/other clan and starting rakion when everyone is ready, thus saving time to do other stuff while being aware of when the match is going to start; something you can't do with your headphones attached to the computer limiting the space in which you can move.

lol, and for hixscript ya I know I had the same prob, a trojan infected hix script, then mIRC, then I uninstalled and dI hixscript again and the trojan infected it then rebooted or w/e, well just try to delete reboot or w/e just try to get rid of that trojan, I dont use hix anymore anyway cause somehow the minimize thing was screwing up my video card.

Houki I think that I know what do you mean, But what I could probably get is a bot that you will just join the chan and tye .join then after getting 12 ppl the bot will just put (randomely) 6 on blue team and 6 on red team then they just have to create a game and play but for this you need a Ventrilo Server, we would need a ventrilo server of like 50-100slots or at least 25 then they just make the game and play their pug, or some1 could just make and hell give the game number/pw and thats it, oh and you could also type .leave or if you leave the chan it would put u off the list, and .list to see whos on the list !
