2v2 Tag Team Tourney [Updated 9/19]

DATE: October 5th at 8:00 PM Eastern (GMT-5)
Matches will probably be announced on the 3rd, but could be announced earlier that day.

Rules:
Members must be of the same clan.
Clans May have 2 Teams Each.

Map: Draco Valley (SU Area)
Class: No Limit
Level: No Limit
Pots: No
Cells: No
Chaos: No
Elemental Bodies: No
Mage Healing: Only when you are the active team member.

Playing:
Both Teams will enter portals and then wait by respective hallways until 30 seconds has transpired to prevent use of Steam Packs and Scouters, then once the time has elapsed, one member will wait in the hall while the other runs out into the middle.
To Tag your team mate, run into your teams hallway, your team member has 5 seconds to enter the arena before the opposite team can commence fighting.

Winning:
The match is won by defeating any of the opposing teams players.
Only one player has to be killed, not both, so it is suggested you tag out before you lose.
The remaining member of the losing team must let the other team kill them.

First to win 4 out of 7 Rounds will be declared Victor for the Match.

1st Place: 5 Points + 2k cash each
2nd Place: 3 Points
3rd Place: 1 Point

well yea, the clan with the most points at the end of the competition gets teh cash prize =P

and Elemental bodies are a no go I guess =P

The REAL point of them being in the same clan is exactly what anthyny said, though perhaps the wording wasn't specific enough.
Winners earn points
Points are clan based
Clans with the highest points win prizes, and hopefully, will be honored as skillful teams.
Points are permanent and carry over from competition to competition, the future of the 'league' is undecided, but the original thought was to have different competitions yielding points that gave rankings to clans, and after X amount of competitions, the season would be declared over, points checked, and the top teams were the winners.

And while multi-clan or even no-clan competitions have been considered and were actually already planned, the primary focus will be clan competition and most competitions will only allow teams to be made of members of the same clan.

If you REALLY REALLY hate the idea of having it that way, make a new clan with your partner to tag into for the competition. Even if they're from another clan, you can tag up together to fight, and then detag and go back to your home teams. Repeat for each competition, your standings will stay and you can pick whoever you want. (This may be subject to change or have rules limiting it, I haven't thought that whole thing through and kinda feel like it could be abused)

Actually, that's a really good idea PP.
In a sense it's a way to bring back clan matches, but keep it unnecessary and at the leniency of the clans.
What clan are you from? That clan should receive bonus points for your good idea Wink

I get what you're saying now about 2 teams per clan gaining point for their group. However, I think it would be a lot less confusing as a strict 2v2 ladder or round robin, rather then rewarding clans. Allow the players that win to be awarded prizes based on their individual performance, rather then a clan leader or something. Just keep it simple I say.

Well, its both really.

The aim was to have a prize per competition, and a prize per season.
So you could win something like 1-2k per player in a 2v2 competition, but the n the season winner would win 20k per clan or something.

However, I don't think anyone can offer a prize thats going to really matter to anyone, at least I can't, if someone with tons of money wants to step up and donate I'd love to make it like 10k per competition and 100k per season.

Luckily the server still has well over a year left on it before it expires, and the domains are cheap, plus ill keep competitions relatively cheap unless someone wants to donate
