Personally I like the Tier system. It's the most balanced, easily managed system proposed so far.

Well, I like my idea the most, but falcon's comes to a close 2nd. Mainly because his is just a much more simple version of mine. I just like complex algorithms is all.

Plus, if you noticed, my Algorithm did not penalize for losing. In fact, my new improved algorithm (which I will throw up in just a second) will allow for the aspect of "Hard Work".

What does that mean? It means that a clan who might not necessarily be UBAR-SKILLED could still potentially make their way to the top rankings by simply playing a lot. Why is this important, and why would we award those who just play more? The answer is simple. We don't want a clan to mound up to a top rank, and sit there, never challenging anyone simply because the stakes for them losing is too high. They would probably much rather just chilling up there and waiting it out.

This promotes the "little guys" even further, allowing for a really active and aspiring lower ranking team to just keep on playing. They do not lose anything, and by them playing a lot, they get better, thus improving the odds even more.

Also, I made the bonuses for fighting higher ranks better.

I guess I just like the idea of an even playing field, and this is one sure-fire way to get clans active and STAY active, because if they don't, they will fall off the mound. If a top team DOES play, they can just as easily challenge the new upcoming teams to keep themselves at the top... therefore increasing activity even further and still allowing for the balance of skill in the system.

Anyways, you will notice the changes I have made. It can still be optimized even further, and I would like to make one for team forfeits and no shows (which WOULD be a penalty) and even more.

EDIT: Also, to comment on Jowy's stance. I know that in the beginning everything will be a little lopsided and off tinker. However, since this system promotes activity, that would not STAY an issue for very long at all. I'd give it 1-2 weeks tops.

And you could simply do a 1-2 week preseason where there are no points and you use that as the starter. Require so many matches from each clan in that preseason.

And what Gene is saying, about the underdog, I agree with Tremendously. Nascar has a great feature like htat. The lucky-dog. The lucky-dog is a car that is a lap back and when there is a caution flag for something, one guy who is down a lap will get a free lap back, meaning someone who was lapped and in last place, suddently gets back on the lead lap. This keeps everything interesting. Everyone can be a challenger this way, rather than one team being completely and utterly eliminated early on.

I don't enjoy it myself, but it is the thing that is always on when my family has get-to-gethers. So I have been around it my whole life, and know a little bit about it. The lucky dog rule is just something I heard and the name made me curious so I inquired about it.

it balances out.
also, why would you guys restat all to level 11 and kick all the low level asses? It won't help your ego (oh yay we kicked a bunch of level 24's asses! woot) and also the cash price isn't worth it. Might as well stick with your high levels with your killer enchants and armors, won't you say Smile

i totally agree with Asianese! almost everyone in xBHx is righteous, and couldn't bother to spend the money and time to restat it all to a low level and kick all the less skilled players asses. sigh, i've met level 24 archers who can take my level 20 butt out with just two arrows though. That's some major PU! Razz
