| I'm typing this on my dads computer because I can't get into windows. I was playing rakion on my computer with dylan, whom is a very caring lad, this afternoon and my mouse stopped working. Frustrated and exasperated, I dropped (I swear to god, dropped, not slammed or threw) my mouse onto my desk from about a foot and a half in the air a top of my desk shattered (my desk is a slab of glass on a metal frame). My gigantic flat monitor fell onto my lap (amazingly I don't think the screen got damaged) and the cord connected to the monitor psu that powers the monitor literally got ripped in two right where it connects to the monitor. There's no way to repair it so I'll have to buy some over priced fuckin' dell monitor psu. Also, I have my resolution set to 1600x1200 meaning that I cant connect one of my cheaper smaller CRT monitors because when you try to boot up with a monitor that isn't compatible with a high resolution you get a monitor error. Is there any way to make my computer boot to a default resolution like 800x600? |

damnn jowiss ,, ouchh ! well i had a similar problem like u ,, and i just took my computer to best buy ,, and they repair it and just charge me like 20 bucks,, u can try that...
or get your computer hard drive and put it on your dads computer and change the resolution in there... and then put it back on yours...

Bestbuy can suck my dick. Bunch of scamming assholes.
I can't just stick my drive into my dad's computer and have it work because I run 64-bit windows which definitely won't run on his computer. |

I always assumed that the resolution would automatically go down to fit the smaller monitor. Hmm, if you have an integrated video card you can try taking out your current one and using that to start your computer in the smaller resolution.
I don't know... You're monitor IS plugged in to your video card, right? |

| wow...... I always thought that the machine would detect that theres a different monitor connected @_@. Did yo u try rebooting into safe mode? |

Yeah, try entering safe mode, or if possible, swap out our high end GPU for a lower end one, like cheap PCI.

id rather fix it myself
yeh id prob just try and insert another graphics crd in there and uninstall all the other vid cards once u get in. turn off pc and put the reg one back in |
